Fabrication of Front Beam support structure

I needed a place to mount my retractable Headlights. I also needed to brace the front end fiberglass body as the last support is where the body connects with the pan right about where the brake master cylinder is located. I made two brackets with half holes to clamp on the two torsion bar tubes. I then built a frame out of 1 14" x 1 1/4: 14 gauge square tubing.

Below the frame is test fitted before painting.

Below:  The slotted headlight mount has been welded on and painted. Notice the diagonal piece on the right. It mounts to the body just inside the headlight hole to support the weight of the fiberglass front end.

Below you can see where the headlight mounts. You can also see the wooden strip that bolts to the diagonal body brace. (Not yet installed in the photo on the right below)

Above: a better view how the body brace bolts to the front beam. Below left you can see with the support removed. Picture on right shows with the headlight in the down position.
